Transition and Career Coaching

Why work with a Coach?

Coaching is an individually tailored and structured process that helps you to unearth and raise self-awareness about the whole you, so that you can take intentional steps toward a carefully constructed goal. The Highlands Vision program is one method I offer that allows you to systematically explore 8 areas in the Highlands’ whole-person model of life and career decision making. Coaching also provides accountability and support from an objective partner. Once you understand your priorities, you can better articulate them to others at work and at home, and take actionable steps toward your goals.

The coaching process helps people move from a “Stress Cycle” (characterized by a short-term focus, status-driven goals, outer-directed priorities and reactive decision-making) to a “Balance Cycle” where one adopts a longer-term focus, meaning-driven goals, inner-directed priorities and vision-based decision making. This shift in thinking and process leads to greater happiness and satisfaction, and is much more useful than simply having a list of potential career areas that might be a good fit. Furthermore, adapting to employment changes that are beyond your control becomes more manageable because you have learned how to navigate, and are better at finding your future direction.

What is Coaching?

  • Coaching uses a process of inquiry and personal discovery to enhance the client’s self-awareness.
  • Coaching helps identify and change behaviors impeding progress.

How is Coaching conducted?

Together, with my client, I design an individually tailored coaching program that begins with an assessment, followed by individual 60 to 90 minute coaching sessions.  I meet with clients by videoconference.
